Muchas veces cuesta mucho levantarse en las mañanas y en seguida descubres unas bolsitas bajo tus ojos hinchados. Yo he notado algunas veces que cuando me despierto no solo mis ojos se sienten hinchados por no dormir bien, sino además puedes ver la hinchazón en toda mi cara.

When is it time to replace your running shoes?

Many times we forget how old our workout shoes really are or how important it is to check the soles of our shoes to check for wear and tear. Many times you may experience discomfort or pain while working out and it may be your worn out shoes to blame. Worn out shoes often result in aches and pains in legs, ankles, knees and hips, signaling that it is time to replace your shoes.

To avoid injuries, it's a good idea to rotate your shoes every 250 miles. Some shoes depending on the quality of the soles can last up to 500 miles before you start to notice severe wear and tear. In my opinion 500 miles on any shoe is really pushing your shoes limit. I normally change them out every 250 to 300 miles.

Are Diet Sodas Really Good For Your Diet?

Many people think because the word DIET is attached to a product it is healthy. Which would seam to make perfect sense. However that may not be the case all the time, especially when including diet sodas into your diet, as a weight loss regimen.

Some studies have shown that aspartame, the artificial sweetener in diet sodas, can actually cause your appetite to increase, and leave you still feeling hungry after meals. The best way to see if your body is having this reaction to diet drinks is by paying close attention to your portion sizes when including a diet coke with your meal. If you feel after eating a well balanced meal and a diet drink you are still hungry try substituting water for the diet soda. Also try avoiding substituting a meal for a diet soda thinking that it is meant to suppress your appetite. That will only cause you to over eat at your next meal with or without a diet soda.

Aspartame is still a relatively new product on the market, so it's long term effects on the human body have not been studied over a long enough period of time. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has noted some possible, but uncommon, neurological side effects of aspartame in people, such as headaches, hallucinations, panic attacks, dizziness, and mood swings, however their link to aspartame remains unclear. In the 1950's, saccharin exploded onto the U.S. markets as a sugar substitute with few calories and great taste. But then thirty years later in the 1980s, scientists realized that saccharin is actually a carcinogen. So if you may want to avoid artificial sweeteners all together until more studies can prove the true long term effects on the human body.

Cambiando tu rutina

Entrenarse algunas veces puede sentirse como algo monotono, y otras veces simplemente terminas aburriendote del mismo viejo gimnasio y del mismo viejo equipo que hay en el. Muchas ocasiones puedes estar aburrido de la misma rutina y eso se traducirá en pérdida de motivación. Es muy común sentirte así después de que has tenido el mismo régimen de entrenamiento por un largo periodo de tiempo. De hecho tu cuerpo se acostumbra y tal vez dejes de ver los resultados de ese entrenamiento.

Al cambiar la forma en como te ejercitas no solo vuelves a sentirte motivado sino además resultas más beneficiado por el entrenamiento.

Changing Up Your Routine

Working out can sometimes feel like a choir, and sometimes you just get bored of the same old gym and the same old gym equipment. Many times you may be bored of the same routine, and that will turn into lack of motivation. It is very common to feel this way after you have had the same workout regimen for a long period of time. Your body will actually plateau and you may not continue to see any more results in your workouts.

Simply by changing your workout you not only become motivated again but also you are benefiting more from your workouts.

Try circuit training for thirty minutes, which gives you a full body workout in only a short amount of time. Try running out side and skipping the treadmill to give you a change of scenery. Avoid working the same muscles everyday, as this will give your muscles enough time to recuperate. If you feel that you are breezing through your workouts without feeling a challenge it maybe time to add more weight to you machine. If you are tired of the machines try working that particular muscle with free weights, you'll notice a change quickly. There are days that I just don't want to step foot into the gym but I still want to get some kind of a workout, on those days I try to do an outdoor activity like playing basketball. Shooting hoops tires my arms faster than any gym workout, and it keeps my heart rate elevated so I am also conditioning in cardio vascular activity.

So if they gym is not working for you, try taking your workout outside to change things up, you are still benefiting from a great workout.

Caminadora vs Máquina Elíptica

Tanto la caminadora como la elíptica son excelentes aparatos para quemar calorías. La clave es sacar el mayor provecho de tu máquina preferida cualquiera que sea. Muchas personas prefieren a la elíptica porque, contrario a la caminadora, tiene menos impacto en las articulaciones, pero no creas que un menor impacto significa menos calorías quemadas.

La elíptica te da la cualidad de agregar resistencia a tu rutina para ayudarte a maximizar la quema de grasas durante la rutina. Asi que si sientes que tu rutina en la elíptica ya se ha vuelto algo muy sencillo agrega un poco de resistencia. Con el paso del tiempo cada nivel se volverá más y más sencillo así que asegúrate de continuar aumentando el nivel de resistencia para que tu nivel de acondicionamiento también aumente. La elíptica es una gran vía para quemar calorías sin causar demasiada presión en tus articulaciones como en la caminadora.

Treadmills vs Elliptical Machines

Both the treadmill and the elliptical are great calorie burning machines. The key is to get the most out of your machine. Many people prefer the elliptical because it has a lower impact on your joints as opposed to the treadmill, however don't be fooled, lower impact doesn't mean fewer calories burned.

The elliptical gives you the ability to add resistance to your workout to help you maximize fat burning through out the duration of your workout. So if you feel you are breezing through your workout on the elliptical add some resistance. As time passes each level will get easier and easier so be sure to continue increasing your resistance level as your fitness level increases. The elliptical is a great way to burn calories without causing as much stress on your joints as a treadmill.

Treadmills are also great, but to maximize your workout try increasing your speed or adding an incline to your walk. My biggest concern with the treadmill is that there is a difference in calories burned between, walking, jogging and running. Remember the key in cardio is to elevate your heart rate to help your body burn fat. While a slow walk is better than no walk, you are not burning a significant amount of calories. Try to challenge your walk by slowly increasing your speed or walking at an incline. Running is a great way to burn fat as you keep your heart rate elevated enough to burn some serious calories.

Regardless of which machine you choose also keep in mind in order to successfully burn fat you need to continue your workout regimen consistently. So try getting at least thirty minutes of cardio in 2 to 3 times a week.
